Constant void ratio vs. constant confining pressure tests on partially saturated silty soil

چکیده
The presence of soil solids, water, and air complicates understanding unsaturated dynamics. A thorough behavior is essential for the fruitful design slopes, embankments, retaining structures. series constant void ratio confining pressure triaxial compression tests were carried out under water content conditions (pore drained pore undrained) to study shear strength deformation characteristics a partially saturated silty soil. Test specimens prepared with 15%, 20% (Optimum content), 25%, corresponding degree saturation 37, 49, 62.5%. compaction all was kept at 83% while dry density 1.29 g/cm3, around 1.045. All samples isotropically consolidated 500kPa by keeping deviatoric stress 0kPa. test results showed that reached peak value followed sudden decrease within axial strain 0-1.5%. In contrast, increased continuously until reaching critical state without depicting any tests. However, in both cases, lower time specimen preparation, higher resistance.

Constant Rate Distributions on Partially Ordered Sets
We consider probability distributions with constant rate on partially ordered sets, generalizing distributions in the usual reliability setting 0,∞ ,≤ that have constant failure rate. In spite of the minimal algebraic structure, there is a surprisingly rich theory, including moment results and results concerning ladder variables and point processes. We concentrate mostly on discrete posets, par...

متن کاملMolecular Dynamics Simulation of Potassium Chloride Melting (II. Constant Volume and Constant Pressure Simulation of Filled System)
We have used a simple ionic potential to simulate the melting of KCI pseudo-infinite crystal. Two MD simulations, one with constant Volume and the other with constant pressure condition are performed. These results are compared with the previous micro-sample simulation results. In the constant volume simulation the melting temperature increase substantially with increasing pressure. A method fo...
متن کاملEffects of Constant Flow vs. Constant Pressure Perfusion on Fluid Filtration in Severe Hypothermic Isolated Blood-Perfused Rat Lungs
BACKGROUND Victims of severe accidental hypothermia are prone to fluid extravasation but rarely develop lung edema. We hypothesize that combined hypothermia-induced increase in pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) and a concomitant fall in cardiac output protect the lungs against edema development. Our aim was to explore in hypothermic-isolated blood-perfused rat lungs whether perfusion at const...
متن کاملCART: Constant Aspect Ratio Tiling
Parametric tiling is a well-known transformation which is widely used to improve locality, parallelism and granularity. However, parametric tiling is also a non-linear transformation and this prevents polyhedral analysis or further polyhedral transformation after parametric tiling. It is therefore generally applied during the code generation phase. In this paper, we present a method to remain p...
